A Prom Night to Remember!

Spring is in the air, and The Landings of Westerville celebrated with our most fabulous party yet! On May 4th, 2023, we had a roaring good time hosting our very own Gatsby-themed Prom Night!

Excitement filled the halls as our team at The Landings of Westerville spent Thursday morning decorating for the ball. Glitter, glitz, and glam abound as staff hung balloon arches, covered tables, laid out placemats, built photo booths, and set up the dance floor. While the walls were being draped with gold, another very special makeover was happening. Thanks to a multitude of donations from our incredible Westerville community, an all-staff glam team traveled the halls with racks of gorgeous suits, ties, ball gowns, prom dresses, and accessories of all types for our residents to dress up in! Nails were painted, ties were tied, headbands and jewelry were adorned, and hair was curled to glamorous perfection.



Residents had a blast choosing the dresses and top hats of their dreams, and both staff and guests alike were brought to tears as residents began making their way to the ballroom to show off their looks. The Met Gala had nothing on The Landings of Westerville’s residents!

Residents and their guests took pictures together, enjoyed drinks from our bar, and were served a luxurious Italian-style meal. After dinner, our DJ took the floor and played music that got the whole room grooving. Even our family members got up to show off their moves! Residents had the opportunity to vote for their Prom King and Queen, who were crowned in a ceremony to booming applause! Congratulations to Duane and Helen, your 2023 Prom King and Queen!



In healthcare, not all days are easy. Whether it is a short-term stay or long-term care, our goal is to provide the highest quality of life possible for our residents. This year’s prom showcased just how powerful it can be to make a person feel lovely, despite their circumstances. The joy, surprise, and excitement on residents’ faces as they saw themselves dressed up in fancy clothes – in some cases, for the first time in many years – is what it’s all about. The joyful tears we shared with our family members and loved ones throughout the night have made a lasting impact on our team.



We are deeply grateful to the Westerville community for their donations. Your kindness helped make our residents look and feel fabulous, and for that, we are so appreciative. We are also grateful to our friends at Bella Care Hospice for sponsoring our Prom King and Queen ceremony and providing the crowns. Most of all, we are thankful to our very special community of family members and loved ones for participating so enthusiastically in The Landings’ events. It is an honor to see our residents and community members form new friendships and to be able to host events that allow our families to meet and support one another.
