Saluting Our Veterans

This Veterans Day, The Landings of Westerville was proud to honor the many veterans who live and work with us. Six of our residents from the facility have served in our nation’s military. Some are here for short-term rehabilitation, others for respiratory therapy, and some call The Landings of Westerville their forever home. Our state-of-the-art facility is kept in shape by our Maintenance Director, who is a veteran of the Army National Guard, Joel Meyers.

The Landings’ veterans have served in various branches, all in unique roles and locations across the world! Representing the Air Force in Scotland and Alaska, the Army in Germany, Virginia, Korea, and Kentucky, and the Army National Guard right here in Ohio, our heroes have given a combined 26.5 years of selfless service to our nation.

To celebrate our heroes, The Landings of Westerville held a pinning ceremony on Veterans Day. Our residents and staff gathered to honor our veterans as a facility. Each veteran shared their name, branch, where they served, and their role on their team. Staff shared smiles, hugs, and thanks with our veterans while gifting each an American flag pin, a framed certificate of appreciation, and a bag of Cheryl’s Cookies (a favorite local sweet treat). Some of our veterans were brought to tears as they shared their stories. To be present and to hear and honor them was a very special and humbling moment for all.



For our Maintenance Director, Joel, it was an incredibly special and unique way for him to connect with our veteran residents and their families. His understanding of their sacrifice and sharing in their experiences allows him to help further strengthen the trusting relationship between our veterans and the care team here at The Landings.

It is an incredible honor to have the opportunity to care for some of our local veterans here at The Landings of Westerville. It is also a special honor and strength to have a veteran on our team. The Landings of Westerville thanks all of our heroes and their families for their selfless dedication to our nation. We are grateful to learn from their bravery, courage, sacrifice, and strength. We are proud to provide our veterans with the quality healthcare they deserve.
